I’m Alix Willemez, PhD, a resilience expert, international speaker, writer, and the person behind Wide Angle.
I hold a PhD in Environmental Law from Sorbonne University and an MSt in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge. But my education didn’t only happen in lecture halls. Orphaned young and a survivor of a plane crash at 19, I learned early to turn life’s hardest trials into fuel for growth. Not long after the crash, I went to live with nomadic families on the Mongolian steppe.
Today I help governments, financial institutions, NGOs, and universities navigate the ecological transition, shifting geopolitics, and times of accelerated change. Across 19+ years spanning Africa, Europe, and the Pacific, I’ve worked at the crossroads of law, finance, ecology, and community, translating complexity into clarity, and ideas into impact.
As a writer, I bring that same lens to Wide Angle: intelligence for leaders navigating climate, energy, and organisational disruption. Thanks for being here, I hope you find something that sharpens your thinking.
